About
Marc
Poelmans is a photographer living in Belgium (Europe). Operating
from his hometown Antwerp he has gradualy increased his
involvement with photography. In 2007 he turned
semi-professional and is building a shared studio space. During
his spare time he enjoys travelling the globe, usually visiting
friends made during previous journeys. At the moment he
mainly is interested in portret and glamour photography,
although his portfolio contains other genres as well.
There
probably has always been an interest in photography. This goes
from that little camera I had as a kid which I took on all
school trips to a keen interest in how pictures in magazines
were made to look so stunning. Of course technology evolves
quicker than the blink of an eye nowadays. I took the step to
digital photography a couple of years ago, when planning a trip
to Scotland. During the trip before that one I still took film
with me, and I spent a lot of money and time in a photo shop in
Sydney, getting my pics on paper and CD. To avoid that, I
decided to go digital, and never looked back... until I took
things a step further and enrolled in a photography course 'old
style'. This meant that the first year of the the three year
program allowed only classic film as a medium. This also meant
developing and printing of our assignments.
Now that I have
concluded the second year (where we worked a lot with technical
cameras) I took another big leap: turning semi-professional.
While I will still keep my day-job I'm willing to put my
education to the test. I guess the biggest motivation came from
finding a proper photo studio to work in. In 2007 two fellow
photographers and me found a large warehouse that we have
converted into a photo studio. It took a lot of work, but in the
end I think we can be proud of what we achieved. You can find
out more about the studio space at

If you are a photographer or a model in need of a studio, give
us a call! I'm
hoping to use this site as a showcase for my work. Enjoy!
